Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Mark and Tafadzwa Wellman

Pastor Mark was glad when God called him to Jersey City a few years ago.  He has discovered that this diverse and dynamic place is a great place to minister and to live. 

He is married to Tafazwa and has 4 adult daughters. Originally from Zimbabwe, Tafazwa moved to New York City to work in the fashion industry. She now works as the Development Director at New City Kids in Jersey City and enjoys serving on the prayer team and on the Mercy Team at Redeemer Jersey City. Tafadzwa’s  life is a testimony to the power of prayer and the unwavering faithfulness of God. 

Mark & Tafazdwa believe that the Gospel message reminds us that we are all the same at the deepest level, and that regardless of how different we might be on the outside, our greatest need will only be met when we receive the gift of God’s grace through His Son, Jesus.   

They lead this ministry with the conviction that the Gospel is powerful enough to create a church family as diverse as Jersey City, and as united as the Kingdom of God.  God has begun this at Redeemer Jersey City, but we have a long way to go.
